CONNECT
At the Maine Developmental Disabilities Council, it is our job to use our funding in order to make the lives of all Maine people with developmental disabilities better. We are tasked with systems change, capacity building, and advocacy – to educate our policymakers about the best ways to support people with developmental disabilities, to encourage and help people with developmental disabilities to advocate for themselves, and to find ways to change systems of care and support to make them more responsive, more inclusive, and more self-determined.
Our staff and members are involved in different coalitions and organizations across the spectrum of the disability field. Our grants fund projects big and small – from event sponsorships to multiyear and multiagency research studies.
