Nancy Cronin, Executive Director Prior to becoming the Director of MDDC, Nancy was the Coordinator for the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Systems Change Initiative and the State Autism Implementation Grant Manager in Maine. In that role, she facilitated an interagency effort to achieve an efficient and cost-effective comprehensive system of care for persons with ASD. Nancy joined the staff of the Maine Developmental Disabilities Council in January 2008, having previously served for over four years as the Executive Director of the Autism Society of Maine. While at the Autism Society, Nancy's work at the local, state, and national levels focused on the development of effective services and supports for persons with ASD of all ages and their families. |

Rachel Dyer, Associate Director Rachel Dyer studied occupational therapy and healthcare policy and worked for many years in community services. In her role as Associate Director, she serves as the Council’s resource for adult issues, coordinates its work in dual diagnosis, employment, and dementia, manages its Small Grants Program, and is the Council’s liaison to the state’s self-advocacy organization. |
Brenda Charneski, Office Manager Brenda Charneski joined the staff of the Maine Developmental Disabilities Council on February 1st, 2022. Brenda has worked in International Banking, Entertainment, Medical, and Retail services and brings a piece of each to her position as Office Manager. Brenda organizes Council Meetings, keeps track of Membership requirements, handles Communications through social media, including the 3 websites the Council is currently hosting, assists with grant contracts, reports, and disbursements, and makes sure the office dogs always have treats and plenty of scratches. Brenda happily resides in Lewiston, ME with her wife, Lynn, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a flock of Zebra Finches. Brenda has many crafty hobbies and enjoys spending time with family and friends. |
